Personal growth by stepping out of my comfort zone.
College Works Painting taught me how rewarding it can be to take on difficult challenges. That is why I took part in the Southwestern Advantage program, which turned out to be the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. Now I feel more happy, confident, and accomplished than I ever have at any other point in my life.
David Emery. It was great getting to work on your house and to be able to work for you. You were the most hospitable homeowner I ever did work for over the summer and I really appreciate having the opportunity to have worked for you.
If you want to keep moving forward in life, you have to work every day.
Think about where you want to be in life when you have your career. Now realize that you will have to put in the same aount of work no matter when you start working. Would you rather start working hard now by putting in the work early or would you rather start after you graduate when you’ll have to “cram” in a bunch of work to make up for what you didn’t do while you were in school. I promise you the second option is a lot more stressful than the first.
For whatever career field you choose, realize that, “success is not owned, it is rented. And the rent is due every day.” You can replace the word, “success,” with whatever you desire most. “A happy marriage is not owned, it is rented. And the rent is due every day.” “Good grades are not owned, they are rented. And the rent is due every day.” “My dream job is not owned, it is rented. And the rent is due every day.”
Going canoeing with the entire Ohio Division and linking all of our canoes together on the river and having a great time for hours during one of our payrolls.
Read personal development books. If you think about your idol, successful entrepreneurs, top business executives or CEOs, chances are they are always in the middle of reading a “self help” book. They got into the position they are in by working to continually improve themselves as individuals and they continue to hold those positions because they never stop wanting to be better than they were yesterday (remember the rent is due every day).
