Earning (and taking) an employment opportunity with the company I desired to work for, in the city I strived to live in, in the job position I wanted.
At first, College Works Painting was purely a means to help pay tuition/finish my education; however, it ended up being the single most important experience I’ve had to date.
Gave me experience that no other internship / job had to offer. As a broker/consultant for Arthur J. Gallagher, my goal is to attract new business, retain current clients, and expand current client relationships. I gained experience in all of these fields through College Works Painting. And it looks great on a resume!
Be true to yourself and your clients. Genuine goes a long way.
Potential College Works Painting participants: Great opportunity that is NOT easy. If you’re self-motivated, strong willed and willing to sacrifice Saturdays and Sundays of your summer for your future, have at it. Current College Works Painting participants: Don’t stop – this is 3-6 months of your life. Prove it to yourself more than anything that you are capable of doing this and get your name on that board!
If you have a burning desire to learn more and more each and every day and are willing to make your own path (i.e. self-motivated), this company and field would be a good choice.
