In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
The best experiences I had in college.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
As an officer in the military a lot of my focus is on leadership, time management, rapport building, and networking. I learned/perfected all of those skills while being an intern for College Works Painting.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
Time Management. I still have a planner that goes with me everywhere. Work hard, play hard. If I cant efficiently manage my time I cant enjoy my pink time or play time.
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
Talk to your DMs about any issue you are having. They will help you over come them and give you every thing they can to ensure your success. Give it all you’ve got. You will get out what you put into this job. You won’t realize how much you have accomplished until you go back to being just a regular student. It is a pretty awesome feeling.
Many college students struggle to choose between an internship specific to their target industry or doing CW. What advice would you give them on this subject if they wanted to enter your career field?
DONT QUIT! You will make friends for life from this experience.
What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?
College Works Painting can work for any career. This internship teaches you how to deal with people. No matter what career you go into you will always have to deal with people. Now, depending on how good you are at closing will determine how well you can convincing people to see things your way.
