College Works Career Impact
In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
The key launchpad to my career.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
At College Works Painting I learned how to manage my time without anyone watching. This is a key attribute to always keeping your nose to the ground. I also learned that if you work hard, you can have the financial means to play hard. I still talk about my experience today and recognize the value it adds to my career.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
Managing friends is great whenever everyone is happy but it can be more difficult when one party is unhappy with the other.
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
If you are lucky enough to get chosen to do the College Works Painting internship, you will reap its benefits throughout your career. Current College Works Painting interns, you get out of it what you put in.
What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?
If you are a good candidate and are confident in your abilities, don’t settle for a position. Interview the companies just like they interview you and then you will find the right job that you can stick with for years to come. It’s useless switching jobs every other year.
