Landing a full-time role with a company I believe in, before I graduated.
College Works Painting has meant that I am able to let my past do a lot of talking for me.
I switched majors pretty late into college, from Finance to Information Technology. I was able to land a pretty high-level internship in my new field with zero experience, primarily because of my time with College Works Painting. The vast array of virtues College Works Painting showed them was enough to prove that I was ready for any challenge. I am where I am today because of that experience and it is my belief it would have not been possible without College Works Painting.
“The pain of discipline is less than the pain of regret.” – Something I always heard from my DM Brett Koop. This means many different things depending on different times in life, but it is always applicable and important.
It gets used a lot these days, but if there is any company that embodies “Work hard, play hard.” its College Works Painting.
Know what you are getting into, it will be the hardest thing you have done. But if you take the challenge, go all in. Every bit you put in will be completely worth the sacrifice.
I totally understand the confliction between doing an internship in your field or College Works Painting. However, it is only one summer, and it is no lie that the skills you learn in College Works Painting are applicable to any and all fields. And when employers hear what your experience entailed, traits like your character and mental fortitude shine through, which are pretty tough to demonstrate on a resume when you are in college.
Do everything you can to gain actual, hands-on experience, and if that is not possible utilize the breadth of resources available online. Be learning something new every day, it will pay off.
The feeling you get at some point when you take a step back and look at the business that you have created.
The best helping hand is at the end of your arm.
