College Works Career Impact
In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?
College Works Painting changed the way I look at the world and inspired me to aim for greatness.
How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?
Leveraged College Works Painting to get an Operations Management internship with Nestle, which led to an excellent job with Shell Oil leaving school. I still use examples from my time with College Works Painting when interviewing for new roles.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?
The way you do anything is the way you do everything. I operate with integrity in everything that I do.
Advice
What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?
You won’t find many meaningful engineering internships Freshman/Sophomore year… you don’t have the technical skills yet to add much value to them. Makes a great opportunity to do College Works Painting to really differentiate yourself from your peers to secure top tier internships later in college to set yourself up for success after graduation.
What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?
Success in the corporate world is so much more focused on teamwork than any hard topics taught in school. Learn to work with the ownership of an employer and you’ll succeed in any industry.
