Brief Description of Duties / Responsibilities:

Nick Niehaus is the Co-Founder and Head Instructor of Business Video School. He has spent the past 7 years working with thousands of real estate agents to help them overcome the challenges of transitioning to video communication and marketing. After realizing how little online education is available for agents who want to start using video to grow their businesses, he assembled a team to launch Business Video School, which has trained thousands of agents in the past 3 years. Nick loves helping agents define their audience, discover the topics that fit their passions, learn the latest video tech, and develop on-camera skills that help them stand out!

What Has Been Your Proudest Accomplishment Post-CWP?

Selling my first 1,000 Case Coolies (a product that I invented) was definitely my proudest accomplishment so far.

College Works Career Impact

In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?

College Works Painting developed me in a way that only diving in head first really can, and I can’t imagine a better way to learn about business and myself!

How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?

I may have had a few part time jobs to pay the bills after working at College Works Painting but every since I left I’ve been working on starting and growing a business. Everything I learned during my time with College Works Painting has helped in that endeavor.

What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?

I loved the clients that got it. The one’s that understood how hard it can be to do things perfectly, and who gave me a chance to fix problems. I wanted to satisfy each client, but when I made mistakes it helped me quite a bit when they were understanding. I was only a 19 year old kid after all!

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?

College Works Painting taught me so many lessons that it’s hard to select one in particular. I think the simple fact that I came out of the program with the confidence that I could handle any challenge with the right preparation was life changing!

How have the friendships and networks you built during CW affected you?

Well I started a business with two of them so that’s a pretty big deal! I’m also still great friends with many CWPers and know that any of them would do whatever it took to help me out if I needed it.

Advice

What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?

Listen to everything your District Manager says. They always have your best interest in mind. If you learn from them, you’re learning from the best.

What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?

Well for entrepreneurship it’s a no brainer, but I think many students benefit tremendously from the program. The simple lesson of learning how to handle stress appropriately is even worth it. Most college students will graduate with no clue how to do this and everything they go through for years seems crazy hard to them. Do College Works Painting and it all seems that much easier.

What’s your favorite memory from CW?

You see so many firsts while with College Works Painting and it’s hard to pick one in particular. I think seeing an intern book their first job without my help was always an incredible thing. Personal achievements are great, but when you watch someone else take what you’ve taught them and find success, there’s nothing better.
