College Works Career Impact

In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?

College Works Painting has meant the realization that there are few things that I will come across that will be more difficult.

How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?

College Works Painting has helped by apply and obtain for competitive internships as a sophomore in college. In particular, I would not have been able to get a job in VC had I not had the entrepreneurial abilities that I created during College Works Painting.

What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?

Sue Cypret, thanks for all the help. You were awesome, and I really appreciate that you gave me the chance.

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?

It is the last 5 minutes of the day that will determine whether or not you will be successful. When you start marketing, you will know what I mean.

How have the friendships and networks you built during CW affected you?

I have a solid group of friends and I am interested in seeing where the relationships take us.

If you had to come up with a one line slogan for CW, what would it be?

College Works Painting: It’s a painting life.

Advice

What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?

Potential College Works Painting participants – If you truly want to stretch the limits of your capabilities, do this internship. Current College Works Painting participants – DO NOT QUIT

Many college students struggle to choose between an internship specific to their target industry or doing CW. What advice would you give them on this subject if they wanted to enter your career field?

Do College Works Painting first, figure out what your strengths and weaknesses are, then do a more traditional internship.

What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?

Network, Network, Network and don’t listen to people who say that you can’t do it. (My personal favorite is “You can’t because you aren’t at an Ivy League School”)

What’s your favorite memory from CW?

When my painters marketed with me for 2 weeks straight so that I could run a 100K company.

Last words of wisdom?

It’s hard, it’s hot, it’s worth it.
