College Works Career Impact

In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?

College Works Painting gave me the opportunity to get sales, management, and project management experience while teaching me the benefits of working hard after taking risks.

How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?

College Works Painting looked good on a resume when I applied to top 20 MBA programs and gave me experiences I could talk about in interviews.

What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?

I don’t have a favorite client but it was satisfying when they would see the work we did and were happy with it.

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?

The greatest lesson I learned from my College Works Painting experience was the value of taking a calculated risk and trusting in hard work and determination to secure a positive ROI.

Advice

What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?

Decide if you’re willing to push yourself, structure your life, and overcome your personal obstacles to turn a challenge into a meaningful experience.

What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?

Learn how to learn and hold yourself accountable. Learn how to listen to others and compete in a civil way. Challenge yourself to improve not just to succeed. Work in the healthcare space, get some sales experience, and network with people in the industry.

What’s your favorite memory from CW?

Canvassing neighborhoods with who is now my wife, in the snow and cold, to drum up summer work. 7 years later, she still laughs and tells me she put in those sacrifices so she could spend my money later.
