College Works Career Impact

In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?

College Works Painting was a life lesson that I will always draw from. In a good way.

How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?

College Works Painting taught me a lot about marketing and community relations which I use everyday now.

What do you want to tell your clients about what it meant to work with them and how it has helped you get to where you are today?

I don’t recall her name, but she was an extremely nice older women. We hit it off from the start, and ended up trimming her trees, and cleaning her gutters. It meant a lot to have someone so happy about our service. I guess I would just thank her for the opportunity, and let her know that it was a stepping stone to get to where I am today.

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?

Keep your employees informed and involved, because they are your most valuable asset.

If you had to come up with a one line slogan for CW, what would it be?

College Works Painting, the business learners of today will be the business leaders of tomorrow.

Advice

What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?

Don’t get discouraged, there is always another angle to work. Determination and being personable will get you far in this business.

Many college students struggle to choose between an internship specific to their target industry or doing CW. What advice would you give them on this subject if they wanted to enter your career field?

If you want real world “c” level experience as a college student, this is where you need to be. You are running the show, and if you don’t adapt and learn, you will not be successful. It doesn’t get much more real then that.

What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?

NETWORK NETWORK NETWORK! It’s not what you know it’s who you know. Things come easiest to those that work the hardest for it. What I mean by that is always work hard, and by doing so you will standout and be on top.

What’s your favorite memory from CW?

Closing my first estimate!!

Last words of wisdom?

Hard Work, determination, being personable, and networking. Those things will take you far in business!
