College Works Career Impact

In one sentence, what has CW meant to you?

College Works Painting has shaped the man I am professionally today.

How did your CW experience impact your career? Immediately after graduation? Now?

College Works Painting helped me get an internship with ADP in my senior year of college, and during my interview it is all we talked about. My experiences with College Works Painting enabled my VP to have confidence that I could be very successful here.

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your CW experience?

Relax…. My VP David Franco would always calm me down when something went wrong because I would immediately freak out. A few years after college works I noticed that when something went wrong I had a much more relaxed approach and in turn it has allowed me to react more smoothly in fixing the issue. I also learned to never make the excuse of not having time. After sitting down with one of the CEO’s and going through my weekly schedule, we alotted time for class, work, hockey practice, training, studying, 8 hours of sleep a day and even a few hours a week to have fun with my friends, and after all of that we noticed I still had about 15 hours in the week that were un-accounted for. This helped me tremendously because I was able to make sure I got everything I needed to get done when it was scheduled to get done.

Advice

What advice do you have for potential CW participants? Current CW participants?

Work as hard as you can, and do not become complacent.

What’s your best advice for someone interested in entering your career field?

Get experience early on. The experiences I had with College Works Painting as a freshman and sophomore in college really opened my eyes to the world of business and how to conduct and hold my self professional.

What’s your favorite memory from CW?

Definitely our trip to Vegas, despite having a broken leg at the time and being on crutches I loved every second of this trip.

Last words of wisdom?

Work hard, Play Hard.. definitely the ADP Motto and it couldn’t be anymore correct. If you do what you have to do now, you can do what you want to do later.
